I'm an independent writer and photographer based out of Vancouver, BC. Writing is a way of indulging my curiosity about the world I live in. It gives me the excuse to delve into subjects in a way that most of us never have time for. I also get to ask those really juicy questions - the kind my mother said were impolite.
I search out stories wherever I find myself and have recently written about the history of Marquesan tattoos, drinking kava in Fiji, energy saving gadgets and romantic beaches. I'm coauthor of The Vancouver Island Book of Everything and my stories have appeared in publications that include Reader's Digest, Men's Journal, Cruising World, Islands, Air Canada's enRoute, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Travelers' Tales and Travel + Leisure.com. I'm an Editor at Large for Yachting Times magazine and a regular contributor to BC Living.
